Mauren Brodbeck is a photographer who photographs modern buildings but then blocks them out in bold, bright colours. When looking at her work the first thing seen is the blocked out building in colour as it brings your eyes to it and wonder why the image is looking like that, so it makes you question why has the photographer done this. In the image we see other objects which have not been blocked out only one building has. Also we notice in the in most of her images it is only one building which has been blocked out. The colours the artist uses are vibrant primary colours such as oranges and greens. The photographer uses buildings with straight angled lines which are easy to block out. We see that the photographer uses no texture but uses strong, vivid colours which sets her work out from others. The contrast in the work has been toned down around the building where as the buildings tone and contrast has been increased so it stands out from the background of the image. When looking at the images the work makes me wonder why the photographer has done this to her work. With the colours used in the images the atmosphere is seen as joyful because the colours represent happiness and peacefulness,we see the artist does not use dull colours and the surroundings of the building is also vivid and the contrast and saturation of the image has been increased. I think the artist has created this work to show the meaning of modern buildings and how people see them.

Edits
These edits have been inspired by the artist Mauren Brodbeck who blocks out a prticular building in a bright block coour. I decided to do each building in a different colour to show the comparison of each building. Also each image is a different building which show the surroundings except two of the edits I decided to display only have limited surroundings, where as the other 3 edits have surroundings so the image is not just one coloured building. With the image having the block coloured buildings in when looking at them your eyes are firstly attracted to the building. The colours in my opinion are seen as vibrant because if the image had a dull grey building in the images wouldn't be seen as interesting to look at. Overall I am impressed with the way the edits have turned out however I prefer the 3 edits with more surrounding in as it balances the photo out and not just the coloured building is the main focus. The two other images look out of place compared to the rest of the edits however I decided to leave them in
Development
I have developed these imaged by merging an old image from the 1970's in Liverpool to a modern day image in Liverpool. By doing this it shows the difference in time and how buildings and the area around it are changing throughout the years. From the images we can see that the old buildings are no longer there anymore and they have been replaced with new modern buildings. By merging a modern image and finding an old image to merge within it shows how time has changed and how infrastructure has developed.
